Goddag to all,

I am a foreigner woman in Dk and will have to give birth here.

trust me, it s very scaring to give birth in another country than yours, away from family...

in my country, births don t take more than 12 h at the most (else they speed it up to avoid tiring the women) and almost everybody gets an epidural from 2 cm dilatation.

is it the same here ? I got the impression that it s difficult to get an epidural (the midwife claims it s too late, too early, the anesthesist doctor is busy, etc..). I am due to at Rigs.

Please, i am very scared and i need to feel a bit safe here. Tell me your story, please.

I am sorry, i arrived just one month ago in Dk and still don t master the language.

Dont hesitate to answer me on my private inbox:estelleperin@hotmail.com

i will be happy to make new friends among you as well.

Hej og velkommen til

I understand that it must be very scary to give birth in a foreign country. Where are you from?

In Denmark you don't automatic get an epidural when you are 2 cm and a lot of women give birth without. However, you can always talk to your midwife if you feel afraid and I think you should talk to her now and not when you are in labour.

I gave birth without epidural and everything went well but I know that many gets it. I don´t think that it is difficult to get an epidural in Denmark but naturally there is a difference between midwifes and how they handle the situation. Some might be more willing to give an epidural then others and that is why I think it would be a good idea to talk to your midwife before the birth, so that she can write your wishes in your papers.

Hope that you can use my answar and that you can read it in spite of my linguistic and grammatical mistakes

hello.

my daugther daddy is from usa so im pretty good at english, maybe not the spelling part, u will see lol

i understand ur concern, it must be pretty scary not u have ur family around when such a big thing is going to happen.

i didnt have an epidural myself, but from what i can remember u can have it from when u r 3 cm dialated and up to 8 cm ( i think )  if u cant have it for some reason tehy will offer u someother treatments for the pain.

if sounds really great that a birth in ur country only takes 12 hours, i wish it was like that in dk, mine took long time, but i made it, and u will to, nomatter what.

dont u have a midwife ur docter u going to see before the birth??

kærlig hilsen liv
